Meeting children's needs

We understand how precious your child is to you and we feel privileged to be part of their educational journey.  Our priorities are your child!

Their safety, education, social and emotional well-being, physical development and language and communication are paramount.

Key Person

Your child will be allocated a key person before starting pre-school.  The key person will make a special connection with your child and be the main adult who looks after all of their needs.  The key person will liaise with you regularly.  We work as a team, therefore, should your child's key person not be available, our team will care for your child in the same way.

Development updates

Each half term we have face-to-face parents meetings and discuss the child's development, achievements, what the key person is working on and what you, as a parent, can help with at home.  We will also discuss any concerns or queries you may have.

Visual aids

Many children benefit from the use of visual aids.  These include items such as time lines and visual timetables.  A few of the team are Makaton trained.

Extra support

Sometimes a child may need additional support in specific areas of development.  Currently, the most common issues are usually based around speech, language and communication.  Our team are trained in identifying many common concerns and will discuss with you the best way forward.  We are able to refer directly to speech and language therapy after a discussion with you.

We also work closely with other outside agencies such as Health Visitors, Paediatricians, Elizabeth Foundation for hearing, Portage, Visual impairment to name but a few.  We are here to support you and your family with any of your concerns.
